Customers are encouraged to review their coverage options and purchase additional insurance if full protection is desired.
For safety and legal reasons, certain items (e.g., hazardous materials, regulated chemicals, ammunition, perishable food) may not be transported. Customers are responsible for ensuring prohibited items are not included in the shipment.
Customers agree to:
Provide accurate information about the items being moved.
Disclose high-value or fragile items ahead of the move.
Ensure access, parking, and safe pathways for movers.
Remove pets and supervise children during moving operations.
Pay all charges in accordance with agreed terms and in a timely manner.
Failure to meet these responsibilities may result in additional charges or refusal of service.
If you believe loss or damage has occurred during your move:
Report the issue to Chesapeake Movers before the movers depart whenever possible.
File a written claim within the time period specified in your contract (commonly within 30 days of delivery).
Keep all documentation (photos, receipts, movers’ receipts) to support your claim.
Claims will be addressed in accordance with the valuation coverage elected and applicable moving and transportation laws.
To the extent permitted by law, Chesapeake Movers is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of the use of this website or moving services. Liability for loss or damage to goods is subject to the valuation coverage elected and statutory limits.
